3 Beautiful Splashback Styles for Your Bathroom Renovation

by Heather Howell

When you are remodelling your bathroom, one thing to consider is what type of splashback will suit your bathroom's style and function. Splashbacks come in a variety of colours, materials and sizes, and the purpose of the splashbacks is to protect the walls above and beside your bathroom sink and bath tub. Here are three styles of bathroom splashbacks that you might like to consider for your bathroom renovation.

Glass Splashbacks

Glass splashbacks come in a variety of colours. They are generally quite durable, stain resistant and are quite easy to clean. All that is needed is a little bit of warm soapy water or glass cleaner and you're done. Glass splashbacks provide your bathroom with a clean, bright and modern look.

As there are pros to glass splashbacks, there are always the cons to consider. Glass can be a little bit trickier to install than other materials, and it can also be a bit more expensive. Although the glass is easy to clean, small marks such as fingerprints, food and water marks can be a lot more noticeable on glass, so you may find yourself cleaning them more often than other styles of splashback.

Tiled Splashbacks

Tiled splashbacks are a popular choice for bathrooms. This popularity is based on the sheer variety of sizes, styles and colours that are available on the tile market, with something for all budgets. They also durable and long lasting.

The main disadvantage of tiled splashbacks is that they can be a little harder to maintain, particularly keeping the grout clean and fresh looking. They're also a very permanent choice, and it's expensive and time-consuming to update the look if you grow tired of your current tiles.

Stainless Steel Splashbacks

Having a stainless steel splashback in your bathroom helps to create you an edgy and industrial feel. It's an incredibly durable material that also adds light and a reflective quality to your room.

The downside to stainless steel is that it is quite expensive and your design choices are limited. While easy to clean, even the smallest marks are obvious, so you would need to be quite attentive in regards to the cleaning if you would like to maintain that pristine look.

When you think of splashbacks, kitchens may automatically spring to mind. However, the right splashback choice is just as important as a design element in your bathroom renovation project. About Me

Replacing your bathroom tiles

We have a bathroom with a really nice layout and structure, but the colour scheme is so dated. I can't believe anyone thought that peach tiles with a floral border was a good idea! I don't have a lot of money, but I want to replace some of the most dated items with more modern bathroom fixtures to create a modern and light-filled bathroom. This blog has tips on remodelling a dated bathroom on a budget and should be useful for anyone who is tired of their peach (or pastel) bathrooms but hasn't been able to afford a full bathroom remodel yet. We've done bathroom remodels a couple times now and hopefully our experiences can help you!
